Frequently Asked Questions

Below are a few of the Frequently Asked Questions from our customers. You may find solutions to you problems here. If you have further questions or problems, please use the Contact Us form or the Problem Reporting form.

Q.

Can I take down my Jaguar fence at the end of the year and put it back up after I tilled and planted the nest year?

A.

Yes, The modular construction allows you to easily disassemble and re-install each year. All you’ll need is a tack puller for the fence clips and snips to clip the tensioners. You’ll need to order additional fence tensioners, as they are not reusable.

Q.

Won’t animals dig under the Gate part of the enclosure?

A.

Although that’s a problem with most gates, the Jaguar Easy-Gate system includes a 3 foot wide X 6” deep solid vinyl anti-burrow barrier that’s buried under the gate area. The fence fabric slides over pins inserted in the vinyl for quick entry and secure closure.

Q.

It is stated that extension kits will double or quadruple the size of a complete kit. How does that work?

A.

Extension kits reconfigure the original complete kit and add stakes, posts, fence fabric and attachment hardware to efficiently increase the size of the enclosure. By changing the enclosure configuration and using the existing components in different places, the original size is doubled or quadrupled. For example, a 50’ complete kit of 12’ x 12.5” (125 sq ft.) becomes a 24’ X 25’ (625 sq. ft.) enclosure with the addition of a 50’ extension kit. A 100’ complete kit of 24’ X 25’ (625 sq. ft.) becomes a 24’ X 50” (1200 sq. ft.) enclosure by adding a 50’ extension or becomes a 50’ X 50’ (2400 sq. ft.) enclosure by adding a 100’ extension kit. (See diagrams section of the web site for drawings).

Q.

Can the fence be installed on uneven ground or be configured to fit irregular shaped gardens?

A.

Jaguar fence can be installed on almost any grade or slope and can be made to fit almost any shape garden. The leveling guide will insure straight posts and the tensions will keep the fabric tight. A great number of turns and corners may require the purchase of additional complete post kits. (Part #522 Garden or #622 Deer fence) See Diagrams Section of web site to plan your garden.

Q.

How large an area will the sprinkler kit assembly water?

A.

The sprinkler can be adjusted to sweep side to side up to 360 degrees. (a circle) The spray nozzle is adjustable for short or long distances. Water pressure will determine the spray distance but since the spray head is mounted 3.5” high on Garden fence posts and 6’ high on Deer fence posts, coverage of large areas is normal. Additionally, the sprinkler can be easily moved from one post to another.

Q.

What’s the difference between a “Standard” and “Deluxe” fence kits?

A.

A “Standard kit includes a heavy duty invisa-style black plastic fence fabric that will keep animals from walking into the garden. The “Deluxe” kits include black vinyl coated metal fence fabrics which are also buried 6” deep underground to keep burrowing animals like ground hogs out of the garden.

Q.

How long will it take to put up my garden fence?

A.

This will vary with the type and length of kit purchased. For example, a 50’ Standard garden kit can be put up in a little as 30 minutes. Deluxe kits with vinyl coated metal fence fabric require digging along the fence line to bury the fabric 6” below ground. This additional step will most likely add 30 minutes to the install time of a 50’ kit. Here are some approximate install times:

Length Standard Kit Deluxe Kit
50' 30 minutes 60 minutes
100' 60 minutes 120 minutes
150' 90 minutes 180 minutes
